Description Luna (in Foster)
Luna
I'm no longer at the HSHC in an apartment or the Roaming Room. Because I spent all of my time hiding under my bed or a blanket, backing up from anyone who approached me, it was decided that I needed to move into a foster home. I agree 100% with this idea. I was surrendered with 3 other cats, but I was the painfully shy kitty. The good news is I am spayed and %100 litterbox-trained. I moved in with my foster mom and her existing cats in early August. I am almost 2-years-old, only 6 pounds, and a lovely dilute Calico (buff, white, and grey). My foster mom sent the following update on my progress!
When Luna first arrived, she was scared of everything, even the other cats. She preferred to be alone and would hide. But now, Luna has made significant progress. She allows us to pet her and even lets us pick her up, albeit reluctantly. Luna spends more time interacting, playing, and eating alongside the other cats. She can be a hissy swatter when afraid, but Luna now approaches me for kisses and rubs her head against my hand. She learns so much from her sibling cats – safety/security, it's okay to engage, and how to be a pet cat. She is becoming a much braver girl, remaining near me for attention. This progress is a testament to Luna's resilience and the potential for her to thrive in a loving, forever home. I love little Luna and am so proud of her progress.
I will still need plenty of time and patience when I move to my forever home. But my plan is to become a confident kitty. 12-3-24

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?

You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
