Description Sweater (In Foster)
Sweater
Believe it or not, I arrived at HSHC in August 2023 as a stray 3-month-old kitten. I was what they call "undersocialized," meaning I demonstrated fearful behavior 100% of the time. However, I've made significant progress since then, living in my foster home since October 2023. Now, as a 1-year-old cat, I feel safe and comfortable. My foster mom wants you to know this about me:
Sweater plays and allows himself to be held and petted. When we returned home from the shelter, he did a quick lap around the apartment and settled into my lap for many pets. I am happy to report that he has resumed his normal behavior, a clear sign of his progress. Since having his nails trimmed, he is not clawing as much and is displaying more affectionate behavior. He is eating/drinking well and pottying like normal. He has shown renewed interest in his bird-watching perch and his toys. Since returning home, he has slept at the foot of my bed at night and seems happy to resume his routine.
My foster mom says I would not be a good pet for children under 18 due to my "short fuse!" I will thrive with an experienced cat person who understands scared cats like me. It's nearly "sweater weather"! How about adopting me? 8-26-24

Not Quite Ready To Adopt?
You can make an immeasurable impact by opening your home and your heart to an animal in need. Fostering is a great opportunity to introduce a pet into your home without making a lifelong commitment. Many of our foster humans end up adopting their fostered animals, but many also choose to just provide the temporary shelter and love our animals need to get through a trying time.
