What do I do if I find a stray animal?

HSHC does not pick up stray animals. Please call animal control through the local police department at (317) 773-1282.

If you have found a stray animal after business hours that is injured or requires immediate pick up, please contact your local police department on their non-emergency line.

Where do I find low cost spay and neuter services?

If you have questions regarding services provided by the Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic, please contact them at 317-706-0537 or view their website.

What are your cat adoption fees?

< 1 year: $100

1-4 years: $65

5-9 years: $35

10+ years: $25

What are your dog adoption fees?

< 1 year: $150-350

1-4 years: $100

5-9 years: $55

10+ years: $35

Do you adopt animals to people outside of Hamilton County or outside the state?

Yes!

Can you call me when you receive a certain breed of dog?

Unfortunately, we don’t have the resources to keep up with those types of requests; however, our available pets pages are updated in real time as new babies become available for adoption.
