Survivor Mochi

Mochi

Mochi was discovered by one of our volunteers wandering the streets of Marion County in critical condition. Starving and emaciated, veterinarians discovered that while Mochi was rummaging for food, she had ingested several screws and shards of metal. It was a miracle she survived the surgery, but after successfully removing countless shards of metal and two screws from her stomach, Mochi somehow managed to pull through. It took months of care to get Mochi back on her feet, but the volunteer who found her was never willing to give up on her, and in 2025 that same volunteer decided Mochi had found a forever home with her.

Mochi is only one of over 2,000 Survivors that come through our doors every year, and they need YOU on their side. With every dollar raised for the Woofstock Survivor 5k & Dog Walk funding the Survivor Program, your efforts make the greatest impact on their lives. Start your fundraiser to help us provide life-saving care to our animals in need.

The Rainbow Race

Survivor Program Logo

Every year, HSHC hosts its Woofstock Survivor 5K & Dog Walk to raise critical funds for the Humane Society for Hamilton County’s Survivor Program, but this event is more than just a fundraiser. It’s a race against time… It’s a race against the product of cruelty and neglect… It’s a race to stop as many savable animals as possible from crossing the rainbow bridge.
With our Survivor Fund already depleted by the sick and injured pets who have come through our doors this year, our goal is to raise $85,000 in critical funding to provide life-saving medical care for our animals in need. You’ve done it for our pets before, and we know you can do it again. Now, there’s only one question left to answer— Who will you race for?

MOCHI – THE VETERAN

MOCHI – THE VETERAN

Mochi was discovered wandering the streets of Marion County in critical condition. Starving and emaciated, veterinarians determined she needed an operation after discovering she had ingested several screws and shards of metal in her hunt for food. Miraculously, she survived the surgery. After months of care, Mochi got back on her feet and found her forever home with the good Samaritan who found her. Now she’s ready to race against the rainbow for all the Survivor pets to follow in her footsteps.

CALYPSO – THE DARK HORSE

CALYPSO – THE DARK HORSE

Calypso was brought to our shelter with a degloving injury on her hind leg so severe that it had exposed her bone. It was determined that she would need an amputation, and throughout her recovery, Calypso has never lost her spark. While this frisky feline may need a few more months of recovery before she’s ready to find her forever home, she’s more than ready to show her fellow Survivors she’s not one to underestimate in the race against the rainbow.

LEAH – THE ROOKIE

LEAH – THE ROOKIE

Leah was brought to our shelter in critical condition, severely emaciated to the point of starvation. Shortly after arriving, Leah was hospitalized and has remained under the intensive care of veterinary staff after receiving a blood transfusion due to severe anemia. She may only be 9 months old, but Leah has proven herself to be a tough girl with the spirit of a fighter and the will to race against the rainbow with everything she has.

HAZE – THE COMEBACK KID

HAZE – THE COMEBACK KID

Haze was transferred to HSHC from a Marion County shelter that could not accommodate his medical needs. As a blind and deaf double Merle, 4-month-old Haze is facing a long uphill battle with his health, as he is currently fighting against a critical case of pneumonia at one of our partnering animal hospitals. Despite everything he’s been through, you won’t want to count him out when it comes to our race against the rainbow. This little pup has the heart and resilience of a true Survivor animal.

STEVIE – THE FAN FAVORITE

STEVIE – THE FAN FAVORITE

Stevie lives in a world of total darkness, but even without her eyes, she’s still determined to find the loving home she knows she deserves. Originally found as a stray, we will never know how long Stevie wandered in the dark before finding her way to our doorstep, but her resilience in the face of the unknown has shown us that this frisky feline has the heart of a true Survivor. Now, she’s ready to race against the rainbow for her fellow pets in need.

PINKY PIE – THE SPEED RACER

PINKY PIE – THE SPEED RACER

Pinky Pie has had to fight for everything she has—including her life. At just 10 months old, this scrappy Survivor was abandoned on the side of the road, and after suffering a severe leg injury, she had no way to protect herself from the dangers of the outside world. Her road to recovery has been long, but she’s fought so hard for her second chance— a chance that some believe bully breeds like her shouldn’t deserve. Will you race to help Pinky Pie find her second chance?
